We are both graduates from the University of Wyoming.
Ellen has a B.S. in microbiology and an M.B.A., and Dan has a B.S. in pharmacy. Ellen has
held many management positions for the State of Wyoming over the last 20+ years. Dan was
in chain drug store management for 20 years. We are now partners in a community pharmacy
and variety store in a nearby small town. Our non-professional work hours are spent on our
llama ranch with our two Great Pyrenees companion dogs.
Our ranch is east of Casper on 80 acres with a live creek, a lake and a beautiful view
of the Medicine Bow and Casper mountains. We are fortunate to have the assistance of a
part-time employee who manages the daily feeding and ranching chores. We personally manage
our selective breeding program, shearing, and training. The whole family has participated
in many llama conferences and shows over the years. Weve been particularly
interested in the veterinary aspects of llama care, and we work closely with our
veterinarian in our herd management and nutritional programs.
We are charter members of the Rocky
Mountain Llama and Alpaca Association and we are also members of the International Llama Association, the American Llama Show Association, and Wyoming Llama
Owners. Dan served as president of RMLA when they began publishing "Caring for
Llamas," which has now sold thousands of copies. Dan also served on the ILA Guard
Llama Committee for several years and helped with several conference committees. Ellen is
very active at home with llama fiber. She shears most of our llamas and spins the llama
fiber for enjoyment. Ellen personally trains each weaned cria using a proven combination
of training techniques.
We truly live our slogan "Llamas Light up your Life" and invite you to visit
about any or all aspects of llama herd or fiber management. Contact us to make an appointment.
